Business Proposal for our Subject Techopreneurship

Last Sunday September 12, 2010 our professor in our subject IT-Elective1 which has a description of Technopreneurship gives his class a task to do about having a Techno Business. Our task is, “if we given a chance of having a Techno Business, what would be all about its nature and its beneficiaries or its clients”. As  an IT student as what I have heard from one of our professor when we graduate as an IT professional, we are more connected to the people and also in technology. Based on my understanding about Techno Business it is applying a Technology on a Business where Business and Technology meets. As I based today, I don’t really have any ideas of what would be my Techno Business all about because I am still studying and gaining more knowledge about the Technopreneurship. So, for me being an IT student, if I were given a chance of having a Techno Business I think I would prefer to have a business like making a Webpage or shall we say a Web Developer of some Advertising Services or any kind of products that needs a Webpage in order to advertise their products through the internet. Why I pick this kind of Techno Business, it is because that since I am an IT student and since I have knowledge of how to make a Webpage then I could apply it on my Business which is a Web Developing. Thoroughly considering the viewers or target market, as well as defining the purpose and deciding what content will be developed, are extremely important.

In order for me to have this kind of Techno Business, there are things that I must be considered, a room for me to do the encoding, a computer or a laptop in order for me to encode and the presence of mind in order me to have a fine-looking and functional webpage. All I have to o is to believe that everything will be impossible in the world of technology, more than ever through looking at the innovated tactics of technology now.

The nature of my Techno Business which is Web Developing /Web Designing, it is centered in the Advertising or any Businesses that wants their products or their Business to be known through the use of internet. Any businessman that owns a business and wants to have a Webpage about the products or stuffs from their business is one of my clients or beneficiaries, and also the viewers that view their Webpage’s. Even establishments that greatly give emphasizes to their products. It will greatly give chances in their part to develop and improve their business even more. As well as those schools who, where interested in making their schools famous and do advertisement to introduce their vacant courses.

As we all know nowadays, having a Webpage/Website to your business is a good thing to have because for me I believe that having a Webpage to your business is important so that you can encourage, persuade and egg on more customers not only in outside but also all the way through internet. In addition to this, at the moment were all socialized people are already affianced in a said social site in the internet.

In my own definition of what is all about Web Developing or Web Designing, I think it is similar to traditional print publishing because in every web pages is an information display container, just like a book, a container. Taken to its fullest potential, web design is certainly the most sophisticated and increasingly complex method to support communication in today's world and also in businesses.

Based on the internet, when we say Web Developing or Web Design, it is skill of creating presentations of content (usually hypertext or hypermedia) that is delivered to an end-user through the World Wide Web or WWW, using a Web browser or other Web-enabled software. The intent of web design is to create, generate and produce a webpage/website —a collection of electronic documents and applications that reside on a Web server/servers. In Developing or Designing a Webpage/Website, I think one important thing to do in planning process is to define what is the reason or the purpose of the Webpage/Website because a clearly defined purpose or reason  will help the rest of the planning process as the audience is identified and the content of the site is developed. Setting also a target practices and quantifiable objectives should be recognized to track the development of the site and determine its success.

First, In order for me to have a fine and preeminent business which is a Web Development/Web Designing, I must have the basic aspects of designing/developing a Webpage. First is the Content of the Webpage - as the maker of the Webpage, I must assure that all the body and the information on the every pages I make should be relevant to the site and should target the areas of the public that the webpage is concerned with. Second is the Usability of the Webpage– the site or the pages that I would be making should be user-friendly, with the interface and the navigation is simple and reliable. Third is the Appearance of the Webpage – in every page I would be making, the graphics and the text should include a single style that flows throughout, in order to show consistency. And the style of the page should be proficient, attractive and relevant. And the last aspect that I must considered having a fine and preeminent Web Developing/Web Designing is the Visibility of the Webpage – the site/the pages I’ll be making must be easy to find via most, if not all, major search engines and in some advertisement media.

As a web designer or the web developer in my own Techno Business, I should also create a coherent and consistent for the entire web. One way for me to do this is to use the principles of page layout and design and provide the users and the viewers of the page with a variety of visual cues. These cues, is consistently placed on the pages of the web, in order to help the user’s or viewer’s to navigate and use the web’s information.

Starting an online business is much the same as starting a usual business in a real world. It also follows steps and guidelines to manipulate start a new business either be online or reality businesses. In such businesses, the very first thing that should be considered is to establish or create a business in unique manner. Many strategies and factors now are already implemented to help your business works perfectly. It only proves that technology now mostly impacted by the innovating world of technology. Businesses were now innovated also unlike before, from a simple way of exercising patterns in how to make your business click. A proven statement of one of the panelists in the first summit convention that “Technology is leveling the playing field for African American businesses and individuals” so since where now in the state of  American, why not we make our own pattern – we will make our own business strategies. Besides there is nobody attempted to say that only who were living in the state of America will have a great chance in having successful businesses. This was proven when one technopreneur in our society stated that when some small businesses applied some tactics of technology, they find it helpful to make the company from small to big one. In fact some have even been able to wrestle business from larger corporations. So no wonder why network of online businesses now are running all the way.

A business nowadays uses an advancement of technologies. Even businesses now do have a close-to-close competition in terms of technologies that they used in their businesses. A business must use technology and only to use but also to understand it perfectly as their advantage. Because the sooner you use the available technology to your advantage, the sooner you'll beat your competition in growing your business. Online businesses must continuously improve their processes and increase efficiency in order to stay afloat in a globalize economy.

Realizations stated in the internet that an online business will do more improvements when you do some researches and collected comments and suggestions from the visitors, clients and even users of you site. Customers ideas are very important to have the business works, some online businesses make use of collecting comments and suggestions from the customers in which will give an idea to the clients that there suggestions and profound thoughts and ideas are cared by the company. It’s a one way of out voicing the voices of the people to what they feel about your services at least either be the effect is bad or good you do still have a chance to do improvements as you go along the way on your business. And most importantly, you can have now the idea on which is the idealistic one you will eliminate to for it was not profitable.   

Analyze deep in business process improvements. Do an outlook your company as an intricate, complicated and complex system of processes in which each of which works together to create a product or service. These business process improvements will formulate your business work in eliminating waste, increasing productivity, maximizing effectiveness, and reducing labor costs.  "Commencement Address of Steve Jobs"

Last Wednesday August 11, our professor gave us something a task that we will do, that task is to read the “Commencement Address of Steve Jobs” and after we have finished read it he said that we will make a reflection or shall we say the lessons we’ve learned from what we have read from the “Commencement Address of Steve Jobs” a one thousand words of the lessons that we’ve learned from it.


First, I will let you know what is contained by the “Commencement Address of Steve Jobs”. As I have read it, it contained about the different stories or the three stories of Steve Jobs life. YES! , Just three stories about the life of Steve Jobs, from being a dropped out from college to a successful and richest man in his decades. We all know that Steve Jobs was the CEO of the apple company which is the most top company in computers and gadgets. I thought that Steve Jobs was a person, who smartly thinks of his decisions every time he makes a decision but in this Commencement Address of him, it made me think a different Steve Jobs.


The first story in his Commencement Address, it is all about connecting the dots or who is Steve Jobs when he was a young one, and what are the problems he had face since he was a young one. It stated there in the first story that Steve Jobs is a “dropped out student of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months and then he quit.” The reason why he drops out from College is started before he was born. His young biological mother was unwed college graduate student, and decided Steve Jobs to be adopted. At the age of 17, this was the age when Steve Jobs go to college, and all of the savings of his parents were spent for his college tuition. After the six months of being a college student he decided to drop out and he begin looked an interesting work. Because he dropped out and didn’t take normal classes, he decided to take a calligraphy class and learned about the serif and san serif a typeface which makes a great typography great. After ten years, they made the first Macintosh computer that has a beautiful and wonderful typography. As what have been stated in his first story,” you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards”. It this statement it make a big impact to me, that you to trust your life whatever happened, whatever trials and problems that come into your life don’t let yourself down but just continue because that trials and problems you have faces will somehow connect in your future.


The second story in Commencement Address of Steve Jobs is about love and loss. In his second story he decided to find first what he wants or really loves to do and not just let his future become a waste of time. He was lucky at the age of 20 because he find what he really loved. All along with Woz, they worked hard, and in just ten years later the small business they have started had grown unto a big company with almost over 4000 employees. Through this he made a something in his future because of his ability and his motivation to purse what he really loves. As year passes by, he turned 30 and at this age he got fired on his own company, he felt very devastated because all of his focus of his entire life was gone and the visions for the future of their company began to diverge and in the end they had falling out. He really don’t know what to do after he got fired, he said, “I had been rejected, but I was still in love.” And he decided to start it over. Five years later, he build a new company and named it NeXT which is a company similar to the Apple, and Pixar Company which was the company that create the world’s first computer animated feature film, like Toy Story which is the most successful animation studio in the world. And as of now, Steve Jobs came back to the Apple and became the CEO of the company where he first known. In his second story, although he had loss something which makes him happy, but he never lose faith and determination to pull off it again. What I learned in his second story is that once you have a thing that you love to do and eventually it loss, do not lose your faith and determination but instead just move on, we’ll never know what would happened next whether it would be positive or negative, just have will in God.


Death, this was the third story of the Commencement Address of Steve Jobs. It stated there that, “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right”, It made me think that in our daily life, we should make every minute and second very valuable because we will never know what would be happened next unto you, and the most important is that you have the courage to follow your heart and perception to yourself. As what have Steve Jobs says” If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today”, in this statement, I can only say that never be afraid of dying but instead be ready to face it. We all know that our time here in this world is only limited, so we should not waste it.


Above all, the most important lessons I learned from the Commencement Address of Steve Jobs is that be humble in all the things that you want to do. Never limit yourself and try to discover the thing that makes you happy. As what have Steve Jobs says “Stay hungry and Stay foolish”.

My Purpose in Life.


My purpose in life, despite of taking away all of my experiences
in my life is to start a new life again. I will not lose my faith. I will keep on looking the purpose
of my life until I found it. I will explore the real world, make happy in my everyday life, and meet
and gain friends.

REFLECTION / INSIGHT ABOUT THE PERSONALITY TRAITS TEST

Our professor has given us an assignment or shall we say a reflection or insight about the personality trait test that we have been taken and answered it through the internet. He said that we construct a two thousand (2000) words about the personal traits test we have taken, but unfortunately I don’t know to start this two thousand words of my insight or reflection about the personality traits, but I’ll try my very best to make it and submit before the schedule.

So here it goes……

When I hear the word personality traits one thing that comes up in my mind is that, what is a personality trait? For me when we say personality traits it implies to your personality on how you deal or communicate other people through your emotional traits, intellectual traits and etc. In order to be a good technopreneur one thing you have in yourself is to have a good personality trait to your client or customers, so that you can easily get their trust if you have these good personality traits.

First we define what is personality traits test all about? As a result of my searching through the use of internet I found so many definitions of it, one of the definitions of it is “PERSONALITY TRAITS TEST is any of the categories of psychological tests designed to test the characteristics of the personality, emotional status, mental disorder, etc., in contrast to an intelligence test.” – http://mondofacto.com Other definition of personality traits test is “any test that is intended to assess personality.” – http://audioenglish.net/dictionary/personality_assessment

So based on the definition of what is personality trait test is all about, it is all about your personality on how you communicate other. A word “personality” means a typical way of feeling, thinking and pattern of behavior that makes a person unique from others. If someone says that he is having a “good personality” it surely means that he is having a likeable, interesting and a pleasant character. Every one of us wishes to have such type of personality since the benefits of having a good personality is more than the benefits of having good looks. Listed below are the few ways telling as how to improve our personality.

1. Become a goodlistener .It makes a person to feel better when you look them with a great attitude of listening and learning from their words, it could be even more nice if you show more interest in knowing what they speak and when you hang on these words.

2. Reading new things that widen your area of interest . Helps you to know many unknown facts of life, also provides you wide opportunities to develop yourself and to exchange your thought and views with others.

3. Good Knowledge . This builds up confidence in you and also as a result, people who speak with you will be having a good image of yours. Be a good conversationalist always. Don’t shy and stand backwards, it loses some of the great opportunities, which indirectly hinder your overall personality development.

4. Have your own opinion . You become more interesting and stimulating when you have your own thoughts and opinions.

5. Make a good relationship . It gives you different feeling, helps you to get exposed to do things that broadens your ways and horizons.

6. Maintain and to be yourself . Being unique character is something interesting and that makes a good sounding personality.

7. Maintain a positive attitude and outlook . Have a good smile on your face that brings great cheers on those whoever meet you.

8. Don’t be serious always . A light heartened person can get attracted towards you if you are cool and easy going.

9. Being supportive . Love those who encourage you and be thankful to them. Believe in yourself and go ahead, never forget those who helped you in past.

10. Have respect . Respect is very important personal traits to possess, because it being a respectful or being showing politeness to others will lead you to a good person.

As what have been said by our professor, in order for you to answer the personality traits test you must be calm and answered it through a peaceful place, but I answered the Personality Traits test in an internet café. As I have answered the personality trait test through the internet, I found it that it is not that difficult to answer because all of the questions are all situational and can be answerable through the senses of an individual personality. When I finished answered the entire question, it reflects there the result of my personality traits test – report. And under of the Personality test – report it shows there the five report.

1. Neuroticism
2. Extraversion
3. Openness to experience
4. Agreeableness
5. Conscientiousness

The first report of my personality trait test is the Neuroticism, and its overall score is 33%. And it explains to me that “You are generally calm, although some situations can make you feel anxious or tense. You do not usually get angry too easily but some things can annoy you. You very rarely feel depressed and are usually in a good frame of mind. You are not generally self conscious about yourself. You do not experience strong, irresistible cravings and consequently do not find yourself tempted to overindulge. High levels of stress can lead to you feeling panic or confusion, but usually you cope with day to day pressures.” In this explanation, it truly reflects to my own personality of being neuroticism.

The second report of my personality trait test is the extraversion which means the interest in and involvement with people and things outside the self, and its overall score is 39%. And it explains to me that” You generally make friends easily enough although you mostly don't go out of your way to demonstrate positive feelings toward others. You tend to feel overwhelmed by, and therefore actively avoid, large crowds. You often need privacy and time for yourself. The third report of my personality trait test is the Openness to experience, and its overall score is 23%. And it explains to me that” You prefer facts over fantasy and are more interested in what is happening in the real word. You are not interested in the arts and do not display aesthetic sensitivity. Generally you are not considered to be an emotional person; however you are aware of and in touch with your emotions. You are eager to try new activities, travel to foreign lands, and experience different things. You find familiarity and routine boring, and will take a new route home just because it is different. You prefer dealing with other people or things rather than ideas. You regard intellectual exercises as a waste of your time. You like the security of tradition, but sometimes have a desire to bend the rules and challenge conventional thinking.”

The fourth report of my personality trait test is the Agreeableness which means that willing to consent or consider something and its overall score is 40%. And it explains to me that” You mostly assume that people are honest and fair, however you are wary and hold back from trusting people completely. There are times when you believe that a certain amount of deception in social relationships is necessary; however you are mostly candid, frank and sincere. People find it moderately easy to relate to you. You will help others if they are in need. If people ask for too much of your time you feel that they are imposing on you. You are not adverse to confrontation and will sometimes even intimidate others to get your own way. You feel superior to those around you and sometimes tend to be seen as arrogant by other people. You are mostly a compassionate person; however you prefer to make objective judgments when possible.”

And the last report of my personality trait test is the Conscientiousness which means that governed by or done according to somebody’s sense of right or wrong and its overall score is 74%. And it explains to me that” You are moderately confident that you can achieve the goals you set yourself. You are well-organized and like to live according to routines and schedules. Often you will keep lists and make plans. You find contracts, rules, and regulations overly confining and are sometimes seen as unreliable or even irresponsible by others. You strive hard to achieve excellence. Your drive to be recognized as successful keeps you on track toward your lofty goals. You often have a strong sense of direction in life, but may sometimes be too single-minded and obsessed with your work. You have strong will-power and are able to overcome your reluctance to begin tasks. You are able to stay on track despite distractions. You take your time when making decisions and will deliberate on all the possible consequences and alternatives.”

Above the Personality traits test – report, for me I think the first and second report will fit my own personality which is being neuroticism and being an extraversion.

After taking the personality traits test, I found that in relation to the Technopreneurship, I think a Personality trait is also one of a very important factor to be good technopreneur. Because once you have this kind of mind-set of being a technopreneur, without doubt you will easily trusted by your clients or customer, and you will have a successful life.

My reflection or insight after taking the personality traits test is that, I found that taking up this PT or Personal Traits test is like a taking an examination where you answer each of the question through focusing your mind and be in yourself. As I have mentioned above what is personality traits test all about, it assess your personality, and truly personality gives a very important role especially in Technopreneurship. Why? , Because having a good personality in a business or in a Technopreneurship will lead you to a result of being successfully and competitive in your selected field. It is important for a technopreneur to develop these personal traits because each trait has collaboration for the success or achieving your goals and purposes of having a business. Being a good leader should let somebody see those traits you possess on how you handle or managed your own venture or business. By taking up this Personal Traits test, I am able to be aware on my personality skill, on how I answered or being reacts on each situation given in the PT test. Seeing me having a good personality is being a perfect person. For me the only thing that is important is to be staying true and be real on your own personality or character.

1. What are the factors that contributed to the success and failure of Steve Jobs as a technopreneur?

ANSWER:

After watching the movie “Pirates of the Silicon Valley”, one thing that comes up in my mind is that being or having a business is not that easy because along the way of managing your own business there are some problems and trials you are going to face.

Just like in the case of Steve Jobs in the movie that is the founder of the Apple Computer and lately became the first company who become successful in the field of Computers. But then, there are some factors that contributed to the success of Steve Jobs becoming the successful technopreneur.
As Steve Jobs said “I want to put a dent in the universe”. From the Apple I to the Macintosh and to the iPod, he has become virtually close to achieving his goal, managing to make a name for himself in all of the business, entertainment and technological world. And what did it take for him to get to the top and become successful? Well here are the factors that contributed to the success of Steve Jobs.

Faith: Jobs didn’t always know what he was doing in life. A college dropout, many gave up on him and had little faith in his abilities. But, Jobs didn’t give up on himself. He continued pursuing avenues that he found interesting, trusting that in the end it would be more meaningful and even perhaps useful. He soon learned that everything in his life, even the most terrible things, seem to happen for a reason and he is now able to place a certain amount of trust in the uncontrollable.

Passion: “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work,” says Jobs. From his first days working at his father’s workbench, Jobs knew that his future lay in the creation of things. It wasn’t until he met Wozniak in 1968 that he knew what those things were – personal computers. Despite failures such as Apple III and being fired from the company he helped found, Jobs managed to come back out on top because he knew that he didn’t want to devote his life to anything but his passion.

Courage: After being diagnosed with cancer and facing the threat of death, Jobs made a recovery and vowed to make the most of the second chance that he was given. He kept his eyes and ears open and had the courage to seize new opportunities as they came along. Whether risky or outright foolish, Jobs was from then on out determined to follow his intuition in guiding his business decisions. And, at a net worth of over $4 billion, it paid off.

Innovation: When other CEOs were focusing on sales and financing, Jobs was concerning himself with the next big thing. Personally meeting with suppliers and suppliers’ suppliers, Jobs made it his top priority to keep on top of the next frontier. By filling his company with only the brightest of people, Jobs continues to work towards ensuring Apple a place at the top of the market for years to come.

Vision: An open mind and the ability to put new twists on old techniques was one of the key distinguishing factors between Jobs and his competitors. From cute and utilitarian ads to those that appealed to counterculture rebellion, Jobs’ vision was integrated into every aspect of the company’s strategy. If you dreamed of changing the world, then Jobs was out to prove any way he could that you needed an Apple computer to do it.
From being thought of as a one-hit wonder for his role in founding Apple Computer in the 1970s to rebounding with Pixar and once again rejuvenating Apple, Jobs has time and time again demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity. And, he shows no signs of stepping down any time soon. “I think we’re having fun. I think our customers really like our products. And we’re always trying to do better.” He said.

Likewise if there is a success in your business, well there is also a failure. If Steve Jobs become successful, still he has experience failures also along his way of becoming a successful. So here are some of the factors contributed to the failures of Steve Jobs.

Karma: After Steve Jobs stolen the product from XEROX which is called mouse which made him becomes the powerful and the leading technology-based businessman in the society in that time. But then again it is stole by Bill Gates which made Steve Jobs lose his career and bestow down from his thrown. Well it is the term KARMA about the cycle of cause and effect because it involves what happens to a person, happens because they caused it through with their actions. Maybe it is just a punishment or reward. I think it just makes people feels responsible about their life and how they treat the others.

Forgotten when he started: As he reached the highest point in his life, he had forgotten the things that made him on the top. He forgotten most especially those people shared their ideas and knowledge to the business he make.

Today, Steve Jobs is undeniably an extraordinary man by any standard. He has left his mark on no less than five industries: personal computers with Apple II and Macintosh, music with iPod and iTunes, phone with iPhone, and animation with Pixar. The middle-class hippie kid with no college education that he was built a computer empire and became a multi-millionaire in a few years, was fired from his own company before coming back a decade later to save it and turn it into one of the world’s most influential corporations, with millions of fans around the world. He has also contributed to the creation of the new leader in animated movies for decades to come. He has been called a fluke for years, but is now widely acknowledged as one the world’s most eminent business executives and an unrivaled visionary. He has changed millions of lives by making technology easy-to-use, exciting and beautiful.

2. How do you see yourself as a technopreneur?

ANSWER:

Me, myself as a technopreneur, I think I can do it. Because in Technopreneurship it does not need a good IQ instead if you have a good emotional quotient (EQ) and good adversity quotient (AQ) then you can be a technopreneur. And me in myself, even though I am not that have a good IQ but only thing that I can be evidence for is my good emotional quotient. It is proven and has been seen in the reality that not all technopreneur are smart neither intelligent but the great skills and abilities are the good thing you need to be a successful and globally competitive technopreneur.

Technopreneurship is the key to earn money through the use of technology in your own business. As what have said by our professor about what is Technopreneurship all about, Technopreneurship is the combination of the word technology and entrepreneurship, where it means business.

In order to be a richest man in the world someday first you must go to school, get a high grades, and you graduate. Second, be an employer not an employee, be the boss in your own company. A good example of Technopreneurship is the internet; there are lots of offers in the internet, ranging from advertising to affiliate business to freelance writing. There are really lots of stuffs in the web that you can earn from, or anything that is a masterpiece made of technology. Especially in our country Philippines, we have a job inflation or jobless people. That’s why being a Technopreneur really helps in this kind of situation. Because through this, when you start a business, you could hire your fellowmen as your employees and you can give them a job. So you help yourself and the other people to have a financial freedom at the same time.

When I heard the word technopreneur, one thing that comes up in my mind is that, what it is the difference of technopreneur from any other businessman? …Now I know,” What differentiates a technopreneur from any other businessman is the way of a technopreneur operates his business, the way of a technopreneur to assess his understanding to his business as well as his readiness and ability to manage his proposed endeavor. As “Steve Seah says, his business is generally with a high growth potential and high leverage of knowledge and intellectual property. And there’s more, he always has a viable exit mechanism.

This is what has said by our professor, If you are thinking to be a technopreneur, you need to have a characteristic of being a hardworking, self-confidence, builds for the future, ambitious, profit oriented, goal oriented, persistent, responds to feedback, demonstrative initiative, willing to listen, sets own standard and last that I have copied in my notes is copes with uncertainty. And there is also called a SEED Role which means Self mastery, Environment mastery, Enterprise mastery and lastly Development of the business plan which is also very important factor to be a successful technopreneur.

As what Steve Seah says in his article WHO IS A TECHNOPRENEUR AND A MINIPRENEUR? ” So, if you want to be a technopreneur, start with assessing yourself, if you are really for it. And be very honest about it. You can’t cheat yourself. What are your interests? Are you really interested in being a technopreneur or are you joining the bandwagon? Do you have the aptitude to be a technopreneur? What are the relative advantages and disadvantages of being a technopreneur?”

Nowadays, technologies have been useful in our today’s generation. Even in the some universities, they already have the newest and latest technology offers. Traditional university programs, however, lack the teaching methods to turn today's students into creative, innovative, visionary global leaders who understand the importance of technopreneurship. Recent technological advances and global competitiveness have changed and broadened the nature of liberal arts to embrace humans and machines. The answer is not creating new liberal arts or soft-skills courses, but integrating them into the general technical curriculum. These changes take time. Also, what about present and past universities' graduates? The solution is to increase in site training and development at all levels of a corporation.

These programs should focus on what workers and professionals should be able to do. These include functioning on multidisciplinary teams, communicating effectively, acquiring updated knowledge of technological developments, and understanding the basic technical concepts and there new applications and improvements.

As defined by Manuel Cereijo of what is Technopreneurship is, on his article entitled Technopreneurship, He defined it “as not a product but a process of synthesis in engineering the future of a person, an organization, a nation and the world”.

High-tech and entrepreneurial skills are driving our economy back to prosperity. Technopreneurship-merging technology prowess and entrepreneurial skills- is the real source of power in today's knowledge-based economy. A technopreneur distinguishes logic from tradition, tradition from prejudice, prejudice from common sense and common sense from nonsense while integrating a variety of ideas from diverse groups and disciplines.

Creativity is breaking the conventional mental blocks and playing with imagination and possibilities, leading to new and meaningful connections and outcomes while interacting with ideas, people and the environment. Technopreneurship is the only source of long-run sustainable competitive advantage. In an era of man-made brainpower industries, individual, corporate, and national economic success will all require both new and more extensive skills sets than have been required in the past. By themselves skills don't guarantee success. They have to be put together in successful organizations. But without skills and Technopreneurship there are no successful organizations. A combination of skills and knowledge will lead to a better future.

Maybe, someday after I finished took this subject Technopreneurship it would definitely help me in my chosen career and somehow can lend me a hand into the world of bachelors. I will set my goals and strive very hard to achieved it, conceive my vision and passion over it and lastly I will take all the risks to be a well-molded, refined and skillful technopreneur.

3. Would you take the same career path that Steve Jobs took? Why or why not?

ANSWER:

As I have research and read an article in the internet of what is “Pirates of the Silicon Valley” all about. Pirates of the Silicon Valley were a movie about Steve Jobs and how Apple got started and also about Bill Gates an how Microsoft got started. The movie is called “Pirates of the Silicon Valley” because it is about the piracy in the computer world in the early to mid of 1970’s.

Steve Jobs was the co-founder of the Apple Computers, at the age of 20’s became the richest and wealthiest man and makes a greater career in his life. Wow! From a college dropout and didn’t know what he was doing in life became like this. Unbelievable…..

In the movie Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak “Woz” were friends and had a fun making or working on a mainframe computer. But then lately they got famous because of their first product called the Apple 1 and were the first commercially available computer in that time. While Bill Gates, he is a typical computer nerd, who leaves the Harvard education to start working in Microsoft with his friend named Paul. What many people don’t know about these revolutionaries is that they worked together until Steve Jobs realized that Bill Gates developed Windows from software Apple had designed for their computers. The irony of this situation is that Apple stole the “windows concept” from
Xerox.

Just what I’ve heard in the movie “Good artist copy, great artist steal”, a very inspirable line that I would never ever forget. It made me think that every person of us has a strategy of its own, on the way how they deal on their life challenges and obstacles. Like Bill Gates, he has also its own strategy on how to be with Steve Jobs in order for him to steal the Macintosh.

For me, my answer is yes but it doesn’t mean that I would follow all he has done in his life. I would rather to choose the same career like Steve Jobs made because of his faith in his abilities, his passion and his creativeness but not his arrogant attitude. I like the way he manages his business and also a technopreneur and the way he handles his people in his company. Steve Jobs was very strict in implementing his rules in terms of job’s discussions and wise enough in making business negotiations. And I appreciate him on how he treats for his people in his company.

Relating it into reality, I WANT TO BE RICH. I want to be like Steve Jobs, at the age of 20’s became a wealthiest and richest man. But before I’ll be in that position, I should finish took my course right now living being an IT student. Even despite the fact that they say that this course is a very tough course, but in spite of of what they say I would try my best to be an IT graduate. I know that there are lots of opportunities waiting along the way in my life and challenges to go beyond.
